With the success of the ground breaking, mid-engined Boxter in the 1990s, Porsche could see a market need for a Coupé version. The coupé was launched for the 2006 model year, 10 years after the initial introduction of the Boxter. This coupé was named the Cayman and like its Boxter sister, a very successful launch for Porsche.
This late 2006 Cayman was delivered new to its first owner on the 27th of October 2006 by the Porsche Centre Melbourne. Now on its second owner, this Cayman has been well maintained and is accompanied by a full service history and a service book full of Porsche Centre or Specialist stamps.
The Beautiful Arctic Silver coachwork of this Cayman is set off by the optional Porsche Side Stripes and contrasted by the Black interior with the seats trimmed in Black Perforated Leather. The interior features the equipment expected of a modern Porsche, climate control air conditioning, a quality Alpine sound system, the original Porsche Sound System is retained, electric windows and to allow you to park the Arctic Silver Cayman with confidence there is the optional Park Assist.
This Porsche Cayman is the 2.7 litre model fitted with the M97 6 Cylinder Engine, factory rated at 242 bhp, and the G87 5 Speed Manual gearbox. The 2.7 litre engine has a reputation for offering very good performance combined with near bulletproof reliability and when combined with the G87 manual gearbox provides a very solid mechanical package that is also a delight to drive.
