The Original Steering Wheel has been Leather-Bound in Matching Grey Leather, and for Additional Driver Comfort on those Chilly Mornings, a Heater has been fitted. The Soft Top Hood is of Quality Fabric and Both the Sliding Perspex Sidescreens are in Good Condition.

In December 2017 the Engine was Completely Reconditioned, and the Gearbox was Inspected and Overhauled As Required by Peninsula Jag Engine Centre in Kooralbyn Queensland. The Receipts for the Engine Rebuild Contains a Comprehensive Breakdown of the Parts, Machining and Labour Costs Amounting to Just Over $18,000.

Introduced in April of 1965, the Phase III BJ8 (3000 MkIII) was the Final Production Austin Healey Model. The Interior Trim was Updated to a More Luxurious Standard, with a Burr Walnut Veneer dash, Wind Up Windows, and a  'One Touch' Convertible Hood with Zip-Out Rear Window. The performance from the 150hp 3 Litre 6 Cylinder Engine was a Far Cry from the 90hp 2.6 Litre 4 Cylinder Engine of the first Austin Healey, the 100 introduced in 1952.

RESTORED - ORIGINAL BODY, ENGINE & CHASSIS

When the Elan Arrived in Fremantle on the 3rd of December 1996, the Lotus was Stripped Down, and the Restoration Process Begun. The Engine, Semi-Close Ratio Gearbox and Differential were Rebuilt by a Specialist Machine Shop, with the Rebuilt 4 Cylinder Uprated Past it's Original 'SE' Specification by way of Larger Valves, Modified Cams, Fully Balanced Rotating Assembly and the Head Gas-Flowed to Optimise Performance, like wise the Drive Shaft's Rubber Donuts were Replaced by CV Joints.
