AUSTRALIAN DELIVERED 3.3L TURBO!
Designed by Ernst Fuhrmann, following Porsches motorsport success with Turbocharging in the early 1970s, the 911, Type 930 was the quickest and most powerful road going Porsche to wear the Turbo badge and when introduced was the fastest production car in Germany. The 930 Turbo is truly iconic, with only 1,257 78 model year built out of a total of just 18,770 3.3L variants produced.
This Factory Right Hand Drive Turbo was delivered to a Mr P. Schuman on the 15th of April 1978 by Hamiltons of South Yarra, originally finished in Silver Metallic. Now finished in shining Black, this 930 makes a statement with its Whale Tail rear spoiler and contrasting 18 Deep Dish Alloy wheels, fitting snugly under the flared wheel arches.
Fitted with a replacement 1978 930 engine, including some tasteful modifications such as a larger K7 Quick Spool Turbocharger, extractor exhaust system and larger Intercooler, giving this 930 increased performance and more sound than standard, while still in a user friendly & drivable manner.
The Black interior is in excellent condition featuring leather trimmed seats, an updated Bluetooth Pioneer Stereo system and Momo Race steering wheel. This 930 was optioned with a Factory Sunroof and for peace of mind a security alarm/immobiliser has been fitted.
The air-cooled flat-six engine has ample power with a dyno tested with a healthy 213 kW (285hp) at the rear wheels by Fitzgerald Racing back in 2007, the suspension is tight and the brakes give you a very secure feel in this truly useable 70s super-car for the road.
