RESTORED OVAL WINDOW
The Volkswagen Beetle has been an iconic motor car since its inception, conceived and produced with the aim of being The People's Car, it perfectly achieved those aims by virtue of its engineering simplicity combined with its relatively low cost, reliability and spacious interior.
The Oval window Beetle was produced between March 1953 and August 1957. This sought after early example features working semaphores! The previous enthusiast owner commissioned Australian VW Performance to fully restore this Beetle between 2019-2022. A body off, bare metal re-spray was completed, now presenting in stunning Modern Metal paintwork with contrasting brilliant brightwork.
The mechanicals have been improved and the Twin-Port 1.6L engine received a comprehensive re-build, including new barrels and pistons, a lightened flywheel and EMPI Downdraft carburettor, whilst a Big Bore kit has enlarged capacity to 1776cc providing noticeably better performance. A later model full synchromesh gearbox and new clutch further improve the driving experience.
The beautiful interior features an original style steering wheel, re-trimmed seats in Jag Red vinyl with Ivory piping, new pure wool carpet and headlining and re-painted trims including the dash/glove box lid, hand brake handle, gear-shifter and steering column. A concealed Pioneer Bluetooth stereo has been fitted for your entertainment.
